1965 ~ K.C. Clark Educational Trust Fund set up by the ISRRT
1967 ~ The ISRRT Council changed the name of the Fund to “The World Radiography Educational
Trust Fund”.
1969 ~ The ISRRT Council transferred the Trust monies to the Trustees and so established the WRETF as an
independent charity.
1974 ~ A“ Declaration of Trust” was drawn up naming three Trustees who signed a document accepting terms
and regulations.
1977 ~ The WRETF was registered as a UK charity
1977 ~ The current governing documents of the WRETF were drawn up .
2010 ~ Addendum to Trust Document bringing Trust into line with current Charity Commission guidelines.
~ 5 year strategic plan drawn up and agreed, creating definite goals and directions for the WRETF 2010 ~ 2015
2015 ~ New name for the Trust. As from 6th January 2015, the Trust is now known as The World
Radiography Educational Trust Foundation. A new 5 year Strategic Plan was implemented.
The Trust's Vision
To empower, develop and enhance radiography knowledge and skills for the international community of radiographers working in developing countries through providing resources, supporting and sponsoring opportunities.
The Trust’s Aims Today:~
The Trust is governed by 7 Trustees, one of whom is the Honorary Secretary and another the Honorary Treasurer.
The Chair of the Trust is rotated through the Trustees.
The Trust aims to support and improve education in the science and practice of radiography, radiotherapy and allied subjects throughout the world.
This support takes the form of distribution of books, journals and educational material and providing limited financial assistance to the international community of radiographers in the developing world. In November 2013 a bursary scheme was launched, which aims to provide financial support up to a maximum value of £700 per recipient so that they can attend workshops, make educational visits or attend a relevant conference.
Financial assistance may be given to enable translation of scientific literature, assistance in getting technical
papers published and to give added value to workshops.
